Since I began
teaching music in 2002, I have made use of digital media,
especially to give my students a practical experience in
ways of playing together.
By using the possibilities of audio-visual media as hearing
and playing guides and as a tool for creative music creation,
I began to define four elements for teaching:
- using the structure and dynamic of music (in pop music:
the song-structure)
- using media to make these structures transparent
- make learning interactive and related to practice as far
as possible
- supporting the creativity and personality of the student.
Digital Music Design
(Digitale Musikgestaltung)
Transferring the means of digital music production into
a creative way of composing music.
Music
Lessons by integrating digital media
(Medienintegrierender Instrumentalunterricht) Use of digital
media (audio/video) as a playing and hearing guide to give
practical experiences while learning music.
Elements
for teaching Pop Music (Elemente
zur Popdidaktik) Learning music based on a song. Every
musical aspect can be taken out of it by analysing structure,
rhythm and melody. Taking it further, interaction and creativity
will lead to a vital way of playing music.
